How much of your electric bill is data-center-driven?

An honest estimator: published factors only, every step labeled

No one measures exactly how many dollars of a household bill are data-center-driven - anyone who gives you a single number is making it up. What this tool does instead: it combines your usage with the published, source-verified factors that exist - your state's average price (EIA), the published capacity-cost estimate for PJM customers, the market monitor's data-center attribution, and documented per-kWh riders - and labels every step.

Methodology - and what this is not

Estimated bill = your kWh × your state's average residential price (June 2026, EIA Form 861M; revenue ÷ sales, so it includes supply and delivery on average). The PJM range is 1.5–5.0% - published estimate of the capacity-cost-driven bill increase for affected pjm customers in the 12 months starting june 2026 (Canary Media). The 46% share is the market monitor's attribution across the 2025/26–2028/29 auctions (Utility Dive (reporting Monitoring Analytics)). State line items appear only where a source ties the cost to data-center or large-load growth - general rate increases (Virginia's +$11.24, Missouri's requested +$13) are deliberately excluded and live on the state pages with correct framing.

Not included, on purpose: forecasts (the CMU/NC State 6–29%-by-2030 projections are research, not bills yet), wholesale price effects near data-center clusters (real, but no published per-household translation exists), and anything without a fetchable source. Estimates assume state-average prices; your utility, plan and territory differ.
